The Covenant School in Nashville, known for being the site of a tragic mass shooting in 2023 where six lives were lost, recently received a bomb threat on Monday. Law enforcement officers, with the help of a Tennessee Highway Patrol bomb dog, cleared the site as a precaution. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is working with the FBI to investigate the origin of the threat.
The private Christian school in Nashville, catering to pre-k to sixth-grade students, faced a horrific event in March 2023 when a former student, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, carried out a mass shooting that claimed the lives of three students and three employees, including the head of school. Hale, who was assigned female at birth but identified with he/him pronouns on social media, had a connection to the school as a former student.
The 2023 shooting incident at Covenant School stands as the deadliest school shooting in Tennessee’s history. Following the bomb threat, the school refrained from commenting and directed inquiries to law enforcement authorities, who are investigating the matter with the utmost seriousness. The community and authorities remain vigilant in ensuring the safety and security of the school and its constituents, aiming to prevent any further tragic incidents from occurring.
