Memphis Zoo guests will be transported back to the Mesozoic era starting March 2 to explore the connection between dinosaurs and modern animals. The interactive exhibit focuses on convergent evolution, where different creatures independently evolve similar features over time. Animatronic dinosaurs and informational posters will help guests discover the similarities between prehistoric creatures and their modern-day relatives, such as the connection between the Amargasaurus and giraffes. The exhibit, which runs through October, aims to be an immersive experience for visitors, who will also have the chance to participate in a scavenger hunt to find animal relatives of dinosaurs both in the park and through the zoo app. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to search for an escaped dinosaur for a chance to win a prize. The exhibit will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free for zoo members, with a $5 charge for non-members. This exhibit follows previous successful dinosaur exhibits at the Memphis Zoo and promises to provide an educational and exciting experience for all ages.
