Despite facing fierce competition from Nikki Haley, a former United Nations ambassador, Trump remains the clear frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination. Haley’s support mainly comes from donors seeking an alternative to Trump, but time is running out for her to turn the tide in her favor.
In Michigan, a hybrid nominating system was implemented, where Trump won both the primary and the caucus. His overwhelming victory in both events solidifies his lead in the delegate count, with 244 delegates compared to Haley’s 24.
As Trump and Haley campaign in North Carolina ahead of its primary, supporters on both sides are passionate about their candidates. Trump, while facing criminal charges, continues to rally his supporters by portraying himself as a victim of a political witch hunt and urging voters to show their support.
