Sebastian Rogers, a 15-year-old boy with high-functioning autism, went missing from his Tennessee home on February 26, sparking a massive search effort involving state and local authorities. Despite utilizing helicopters, drones, search-and-rescue dogs, and blasting his favorite song, “Eye of the Tiger,” there has been no sign of Sebastian. The search was scaled back as investigators now work on eliminating and drumming up leads.
Authorities have turned their focus to a Kentucky landfill where trash from Sebastian’s neighborhood ends up, calling the search a precautionary measure to eliminate possible options. Sebastian’s parents, Katie Proudfoot and Chris Proudfoot, spoke out about their son’s disappearance, expressing their constant rollercoaster of helplessness and hopelessness.
An AMBER Alert was issued for Sebastian based on investigative information, indicating an abduction may have occurred. Multiple agencies are involved in the search, including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. Sebastian’s family is urging anyone with information to come forward, as they desperately seek answers and hope for his safe return home.
To aid in the search efforts, anyone with tips on Sebastian’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Sumner County Sheriff’s Office Detective Carter at 615-442-1865 or bcarter@sumnersheriff.com.
