Newlywed Husband Killed in Car Crash on Honeymoon Trip
A newlywed husband, Daniel Palacios III, 27, was tragically killed in a car crash while traveling with his wife, Christy Carrillo, 23, to their honeymoon destination, just one day after their wedding. The couple was driving on I-40 in Tennessee when their Toyota 4Runner veered off the road, struck a dirt embankment, flipped multiple times, and was hit by a semi-truck, resulting in Palacios’ death.
According to reports, Palacios, an independently contracted truck driver, was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Carrillo survived with injuries and was released from the hospital, but was described as emotionally distraught from losing her husband.
Palacios Jr., the father of the deceased, expressed his grief over the loss of his son but shared his gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from the community. The funeral for Palacios III is scheduled for March 16.
The tragic crash on I-40 in Tennessee is the latest in a series of accidents in the area. Just hours after Palacios’ death, a small plane crashed on the same highway near Nashville, resulting in the loss of five lives. The harrowing incident was captured on video, showing the plane engulfed in flames after the pilot reported not being able to make it.
The newlywed couple had become engaged in September 2023, and their sudden loss has left their families and community in mourning. The heartbreaking story serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the importance of holding loved ones close.
