A new cosmopolitan dance room and lounge called Night We Met is set to open in the North Gulch on March 29. The establishment will be located at 114 12th Ave. N, taking over the space previously occupied by live music venue 12th & Porter which closed in 2015. The business is owned by Austin Knight, and his parents Jim Knight and Allison Knight. overseeing the cocktail program will be Owen Gibler and Harrison Drost, with Gibler bringing experience from top cocktail spots such as The Violet Hour and Pouring Ribbons.
The nightclub will have a capacity for approximately 350 patrons and will feature a state-of-the-art sound system from Void Acoustics. Night We Met will prioritize sustainable practices including eliminating single-use plastics and implementing a composting and recycling program, with sustainability initiatives being led by Joel Atchison from Nashville’s Deep Culture.
The former 12th & Porter space was set to house Night We Met after Metro issued a permit valued at $300,000 for the business build-out. The space was previously occupied by Nightscape, an experiential entertainment space that opened in April 2022 but closed within 12 months. Overall, Night We Met aims to offer a unique and eco-friendly nightlife experience in Nashville’s North Gulch area.
