The National Jazz Workshop in Nashville, Tennessee is celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month with a series of upcoming events that invite the community to join in the festivities. Highlights include performances by contemporary jazz guitarist Eric Essix, a tribute to Coltrane & Cannonball, and original music blending Minneapolis soul with modern funk and jazz.
The workshop will also host free events such as a Jazz AM Puppet Show featuring Dizzy Gillespie and an Open House where Jazz ensembles from the community will perform throughout the day. The month will conclude with a Jazz on the Move event at the Frist Art Museum featuring the life and music of Clark Terry.
The Nashville Jazz Workshop, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the art of jazz, has been enriching lives and building community through jazz education and performance for over two decades.
