The Chattanooga Mocs softball team extended their winning streak to nine games with an 8-0 run-rule victory over Austin Peay. Senior Kendall Forsythe drove in two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win. The game was interrupted by a weather delay in the third inning, but the Mocs came back strong to take a 3-0 lead. The team added three more runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth to seal the victory.
Forsythe led the Mocs with a perfect 3-for-3 at bat and four RBI. Olivia Lipari contributed with two RBI, while Kaili Phillips and Anna Dovey each added one. Pitcher Izzy Alley picked up her fourth win of the season, with Alyssa Lavdis closing out the game in the sixth inning.
Chattanooga now sits at 25-8 overall and is leading the SoCon with a 6-0 record, tied with UNCG. Austin Peay falls to 17-18 on the year. The Mocs will continue their home stand with a three-game series against Wofford over the weekend.
