Tennessee Women’s Tennis Team Sweeps Ole Miss in 4-0 Victory
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 18 Tennessee Women’s tennis team secured a commanding 4-0 victory over No. 34 Ole Miss on Friday afternoon. The Lady Volunteers dominated both the doubles and singles matches to clinch the shutout win.
Tennessee displayed a strong doubles performance, with victories on courts one and two, highlighted by the No. 70-ranked pair of Esther Adeshina and Alana Wolfberg. The squad then carried their momentum into singles play, with Adeshina, Elza Tomase, and Catherine Aulia posting impressive victories to seal the match.
The win marked the Lady Vols’ eighth sweep of the season, including their third against an SEC opponent. Head coach Alison Ojeda praised her team’s performance against a tough Ole Miss squad, emphasizing the importance of getting on and off the court quickly.
The victory marked the 779th for the Tennessee women’s tennis program and the 135th for Coach Ojeda. The Lady Vols now own a 32-21 all-time record against Ole Miss and have extended their winning streak to three matches.
Next up, Tennessee will face Mississippi State at home on Sunday. With the win against Ole Miss, the Lady Vols are looking to continue their strong play and secure another SEC victory.
