Stephanie Styll, owner of the non-alcoholic bottle shop Killjoy in Nashville, is working towards opening the city’s first alcohol-free bar. Despite Nashville’s reputation for partying and honky-tonks, Styll believes there is a growing interest in alcohol-free options. Non-alcoholic beverages are a $1.8 billion industry in the US and are expected to grow by 17% by 2027, according to IWSR.
Styll has seen interest from consumers who are not sober but want to explore non-alcoholic options. She has launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring her vision of a non-alcoholic bar to life and has already raised over $6,000. Styll plans to offer non-alcoholic beers, craft mocktails, and drinks infused with various substances like CBD and THC.
The bar will be located in East Nashville and will feature a laid-back atmosphere, games, and an adjoining coffee shop. Styll anticipates the prices of non-alcoholic beverages to be similar to their alcoholic counterparts due to the labor-intensive process of making them.
While there is no set opening date for the bar, Styll is optimistic that with continued fundraising efforts, it will soon become a reality. The growing trend of moderation, health, and wellness is driving interest in non-alcoholic products, making Nashville’s first alcohol-free bar a timely and innovative addition to the city.
