The Cleveland Browns announced on Friday that they have traded offensive tackle Leroy Watson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a seventh-round pick. Watson, a former undrafted rookie, made his NFL debut last season with the Browns after starting his college career at UTSA. Watson, who switched from tight end to offensive tackle in the NFL, was a key player in setting records for the Road Runners offense.
This trade will see Watson joining the Titans, where he will be under the leadership of first-time NFL head coach Brian Callahan and work alongside offensive line coach Bill Callahan, who he worked with previously in Cleveland. Titans GM Ran Carthon also has a prior relationship with Watson from their time in San Francisco.
Watson will now have the opportunity to try to crack the Titans’ initial 53-man roster as he continues to pursue his NFL career. The move adds depth and talent to the Titans’ offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season. This trade is just one of many moves being made as teams across the NFL continue to work on shaping their rosters in the offseason ahead of the upcoming season.
