Blue Raiders Conclude Outdoor Meet in California


Middle Tennessee men’s and women’s track and field teams had a successful weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The competition showcased impressive performances, with Odilia Jepchumba and Faith Nyathi both running top-40 times in the women’s 5k event. On the men’s side, Vincent Yegon, Habtamu Geta, Wail Bourahli, Brian Kiptoo, and Carmelo Cannizaro achieved personal best times in various events.

In the women’s division, Purity Sanga and Nancy Maiyo stood out with strong performances in the 10k and 5k events, respectively. Jepchumba and Nyathi continued to impress, running top-40 times in the NCAA rankings. Additionally, Leonie Beu and Eleanor Towe also achieved personal bests in their respective events.

Looking ahead, both the men’s and women’s teams will be competing at the Music City Challenge and the Penn Relays on April 25-17. Overall, the Blue Raiders had an impressive showing at the Bryan Clay Invitational, setting personal best times and ranking high in their events.
