Live Updates on Israel-Iran Tensions: Israeli Army Reports Intercepting 99% of Iranian Launches During Israel-Gaza War

Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles at Israel in an unprecedented attack, injuring at least 12 people. Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that 99 percent of the launches were intercepted, with 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles, and 110 ballistic missiles being fired. Russia has urged restraint, while NATO condemned the attack as an escalation of regional unrest. G7 leaders will discuss the strikes, and China has expressed deep concern. The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to address the situation.

Iran had threatened to retaliate against Israel for an air strike on its consulate building in Damascus. Following the attack, Iranian airports cancelled flights until Monday, with other Middle Eastern airlines rerouting flights as tensions rose. Israel’s Mossad reported that Hamas had rejected a truce proposal, preferring continued hostility.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a strong response to Iran’s attack, stating that Israel has been preparing for such a situation for years. President Joe Biden assured US support for Israel and condemned the attack as “brazen.” Hezbollah launched rockets towards the Israeli-held Golan Heights, and Israel’s F-35 jets protected its airspace during the attack.

Iran claimed its retaliation was concluded but warned of further action if Israel retaliated. Despite the escalation, Israel reported that the attack had been “foiled,” with the help of the US and allies. The conflict between Israel and Iran adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing Middle Eastern tensions.
