Israel has deployed its forces along the length of its borders in preparation for the Jewish holiday of Passover, the Israeli military has announced. Meanwhile, emergency services in Gaza have recovered the bodies of at least 50 Palestinians from a mass grave near Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, with reports suggesting there may be up to 150 bodies in the area. The bodies were found after the Israeli Defense Forces withdrew from Khan Younis following months of fighting to root out Hamas.
In separate incidents, at least 22 people, including 18 children, were killed in Israeli air strikes on Rafah. Israel has been carrying out frequent air raids on the city, where many Gazans have sought refuge. Despite international warnings, Israel has threatened a full-scale ground offensive into Rafah, where it says Hamas is holding Israeli hostages.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to increase pressure on Hamas to release the hostages. He stated that all proposals for their release have been rejected by Hamas, accusing the group of causing divisions. Netanyahu promised to continue efforts to bring the hostages home.
As tensions remain high, the Israeli military spokesperson urged vigilance and adherence to Home Front Command directives during the upcoming holiday. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari emphasized the importance of the security of Israeli citizens. The situation in the region remains tense as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues.
