Around 800 protesters clashed with police in Germany while attempting to break into a Tesla factory in Grueneheide near Berlin. The protest organized by Disrupt Tesla aimed to halt the factory’s expansion due to potential environmental issues. Disrupt Tesla accused Tesla of groundwater contamination, resource theft, and endangering communities globally. Video footage showed demonstrators trying to storm the premises while police intervened. Tesla CEO Elon Musk questioned why the protesters were handled so leniently and hinted at leftist motivations. Police made several arrests and reported a few injuries, with all attempts to enter the factory being thwarted. Disrupt Tesla also plans to focus on environmental damage from lithium mining in countries like Argentina and Bolivia, crucial for electric vehicle batteries. Brandenburg police stressed a balance between the right to protest and maintaining public order and safety. Tesla has not commented on the incident as of now.
