A Southern California couple in Monrovia had unexpected guests on their property when a mama bear and her two cubs decided to take a dip in their pool. Ricky Martinez and Brian Gordon, residents of the home, have named the mother bear Maddie and had seen her before but this was the first time they had seen the cubs. Despite the close encounter, the couple respects the bears and admires them from a distance. They even purchased a bear-shaped flotation device for the bears to use if they decide to come back. Maddie, in particular, is their favorite bear and they even have a painting of her in their living room. Bear sightings are common in Monrovia, especially during mating season when residents have to be more cautious about putting away trash to avoid attracting larger and more dangerous male bears. Overall, the residents of the area enjoy sharing their space with the bears and despite the occasional inconvenience, they appreciate the presence of these furry friends. The couple shared their experience on Instagram, and many people expressed excitement for future content featuring the bears, with one person commenting about missing the bears that used to visit their own house.
