The 2024 NCAA DI softball tournament is set to begin, with the bracket announced on Sunday, May 12 in an ESPN2 selection show. Regional action will take place from May 17-19, followed by super regionals from May 23-26. The tournament will culminate with the eight-team Women’s College World Series starting on May 30 in Oklahoma City.
The 2023 Women’s College World Series ended with Oklahoma sweeping Florida State to win their third consecutive national championship. The 2024 tournament promises to be just as exciting, with teams competing for a chance to make it to the WCWS.
The tournament schedule includes key dates such as the selection show on May 12, regionals from May 16/17-19, super regionals from May 23-25 or May 24-26, and the Women’s College World Series from May 30-June 6/7.
The championship format includes 16 regional sites hosting double-elimination games, with the 16 winners advancing to super regionals. The eight winners from super regionals will then compete in the WCWS in Oklahoma City. The WCWS will feature a double-elimination format, leading to a best-of-three series for the final two teams.
