Ukrainian troops were fighting to halt Russian advances in the northeastern Kharkiv region, with the town of Vovchansk being a key battleground. The Russian army’s strategy is to reduce towns to ruins with aerial strikes before moving in.
The conflict has stretched resources and exploited weaknesses in both Ukrainian and Russian forces. The front line, which spans roughly 1,000 kilometers through eastern Ukraine, has seen recent attacks in various regions. The ongoing war of attrition has led to civilian evacuations and widespread destruction. The situation remains tense, with both sides facing challenges as the conflict continues.
