Plane malfunctions, resulting in three fatalities and scattering debris across Tennessee

Dr. Lucius J. Doucet III, a prominent Louisiana plastic surgeon, along with his two adult children, Giselle and Jean-Luc, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash over Tennessee. The family was on their way to Louisville from Gonzales, Louisiana, when their single-engine Beechcraft V35 broke apart in the air, leaving a half-mile debris field. The children were set to graduate from Louisiana State University, where Giselle studied veterinary medicine and Jean-Luc was an engineering student.

The crash, which may have been influenced by rough weather conditions, prompted an immediate search and recovery operation by emergency responders. Despite the efforts, all three occupants of the plane were pronounced dead at the scene. Colleagues remember Dr. Doucet as an exceptional surgeon who was also an avid pilot with a passion for flying.

The National Transportation Safety Board, along with other authorities, is currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash. Residents in the area reported sightings of debris, but no structural damage was reported. The community, especially LSU, is mourning the loss of the Doucet family, with heartfelt condolences being extended to their loved ones and all those affected by this tragic event.
