Beck reached out to Swift’s team hoping to surprise her athletes with tickets to the Eras Tour while they were in Paris for a test event. After boarding the plane to France, Beck received a positive response, causing her to audibly squeal with excitement. The team was overjoyed when they found out about the opportunity to attend Swift’s concert, with some members being longtime fans of the singer.
The 15 water polo athletes and eight staff members enjoyed the concert from the VIP floor section and were grateful for the experience. The team had already been in the spotlight earlier in the week when rapper Flavor Flav offered financial support for their trip to the summer games in Paris. Team captain Maggie Steffens highlighted the financial struggles many Olympians face, expressing gratitude for the support from both Swift and Flavor Flav.
Beck expressed immense gratitude towards Swift and Flavor Flav, emphasizing the inspiration and joy they brought to the team. The U.S. women’s water polo team is gearing up to defend their three consecutive gold titles at the upcoming games in Paris.
