Alabama Softball Claims Walk-Off Victory Against Tennessee in NCAA Super Regional, Extending Series to Game 3

Alabama softball kept its season alive with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tennessee in a historic 14-inning Game 2 of the Knoxville Super Regional. The game, which lasted over five hours, was the longest NCAA super regional game of all time and just the ninth to go 10-plus innings.

After taking an early lead, Alabama and Tennessee exchanged blows throughout the game, with both teams hitting solo home runs to tie the game at 2-2. The game remained deadlocked until the 14th inning when Kristen White’s RBI single with the bases loaded broke the tie and secured the win for Alabama.

Alabama’s Jocelyn Briski and Kayla Beaver delivered strong performances from the circle, with Briski allowing two runs in four innings before Beaver shut down Tennessee over nine scoreless innings.

In the field, second baseman Kali Heivilin made key defensive plays to help keep Tennessee at bay, including a double play in the first inning and a catch in the outfield to prevent Lady Vols runs.

With the win, Alabama forced a decisive Game 3, scheduled for Sunday, where the winner will advance to the Women’s College World Series. Alabama is seeking its second straight trip to the WCWS and 15th in program history.

Fans can tune in to ESPN on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT to see the exciting conclusion of the Knoxville Super Regional and find out which team will advance to the WCWS.
