Florida State Seminoles baseball is heading to Omaha for the College World Series for the first time since 2019. Their first opponent will be the No. 1 overall seed, the Tennessee Volunteers. The two teams have only faced off once in the postseason back in 2007, where FSU swept the Volunteers in a three-game series. Florida State currently holds a 7-4 all-time record against Tennessee.
The Seminoles are among seven teams that have secured a spot in the College World Series. The final spot will go to the winner of the UGA vs. NC State game. The matchups for the 2024 College World Series have been set, with Tennessee facing off against Florida State and other matchups including North Carolina vs. Virginia and Kentucky vs. Georgia or NC State.
In recruiting news, Florida State has offered offensive lineman Hunter Hill for the 2028 class, and edge Jake Kreul for the 2026 class. Additionally, offensive lineman Sean Portet for 2025 has also received an offer from the Seminoles.
Meanwhile, Florida State beach volleyball players Audrey Koenig, Alexis Durish, and alum Maddie Anderson, along with assistant coach Nick Lucena, have been selected for the 2024 Beach Collegiate National Team. The four players will train in California from June 11-19. Anderson, a two-time AVCA First-Team All-American, ended her career with 123 wins, ranking second all-time at FSU. The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams also wrapped up competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with several members earning All-American honors.
