Kingsport, Tennessee has been identified as one of the cheapest metro areas in the state for gas prices, according to AAA – The Auto Club Group. The average price of gas in Tennessee has dropped to $3.02, down 24 cents from the previous month and 13 cents from the same time last year.

In the Kingsport-Bristol market, gas prices are even lower, with an average price of $3 per gallon, making it the third cheapest metro area for gas in Tennessee. Clarksville and Chattanooga have the cheapest average gas prices at $2.97 and $2.88, respectively, while Johnson City’s average gas price is $3.06.

Despite the overall decrease in gas prices, Jackson, Tennessee has the most expensive average gas price at $3.10.

In addition to the good news for consumers at the pump, Kingsport is set to receive $10.8 million in street resurfacing in 2024. This investment will help improve the city’s infrastructure and make the roads safer and more efficient for residents and visitors alike.

Overall, the lower gas prices in Kingsport are a welcome relief for drivers in the area, providing some financial relief at a time when prices for many goods and services continue to rise. Kingsport’s ranking as one of the cheapest metro areas for gas in Tennessee is sure to be a positive factor for both residents and tourists looking to travel in the area.
