A group in West Tennessee, All Saints Immigration Services (ASIS), is providing low-cost legal services to undocumented immigrants seeking pathways to citizenship. Led by Executive Director Stacy Preston and Dulce Maria Salcedo, ASIS has helped nearly 300 immigrants in West Tennessee navigate the complex process of legal status. The organization was recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2020 and has since been providing legal advice and resources to vulnerable populations.
Most of the immigrants ASIS serves are escaping violent situations in their home countries, primarily from Central America. Many are low-income individuals who have experienced trauma in their home country and are now facing challenges in the U.S. as well. ASIS also educates immigrants about the risks of immigration fraud and provides support in navigating the path to citizenship.
Despite the challenges faced by undocumented immigrants, ASIS helps them find pathways to legal status, whether through familial connections or humanitarian considerations. With the immigration landscape constantly changing, the organization encourages clients to stay in touch for updates on potential pathways to citizenship.
While politicians in Tennessee have expressed concerns about immigration, ASIS remains committed to serving vulnerable immigrant populations. The organization is the only service of its kind in rural West Tennessee, providing vital support to those in need.
