As the temperature rises across the United States this summer, major movie theater chains are rolling out special offers to attract audiences back to the big screen. The foot traffic in cinemas is still below pre-pandemic levels according to a report by analytics company Placer.ai. To combat this, AMC Theaters is running a summer movie camp program where customers can see select movies for $3 plus tax. The program will feature eight movies from Universal’s Illumination, like “Despicable Me 3,” and will run from June 24 to August 14.
Cinemark also has a Summer Movie Clubhouse deal with $1.75 tickets for select movies and $1 off snack packs for kids. Regal Cinemas is offering $1 tickets for select movies as part of its Summer Movie Express, running from June 11 to August 7. The deals also include discounted food and drink offers to attract families back to the cinemas.
AMC and Regal also have discounted deals on Tuesdays for members who want to see new releases at a lower price. Spanish dub versions of movies will be available at select theaters for those interested. Check with local theaters for more information on showtimes and participating locations. These deals are an attempt to rejuvenate the cinema industry and bring back audiences post-pandemic.
