Country musician Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from singer Firerose, after just seven months of marriage. The 62-year-old filed for divorce in a Tennessee court on May 22, citing irreconcilable differences and alleged fraud on Hodges’ part. Details on the fraud were not disclosed in the filing. The couple had released several songs together during their relationship.
Representatives for both parties did not comment on the filing, which was first reported by TMZ. This comes after Cyrus’ previous marriage to Tish Cyrus, with whom he shares five children including Miley Cyrus, ended in divorce in 2022 after nearly three decades together. The 2022 divorce resulted in a publicized rift in the Cyrus family.
Hodges commemorated their six-month anniversary on Instagram in April, calling Cyrus her best friend. Neither Hodges nor Cyrus have commented on the divorce on social media.
Cyrus is seeking an annulment in addition to a divorce, as he claims he would not have married Hodges had he known about the alleged fraud. The filing states that each party should be able to keep their separate property.
