Country musician Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from singer Firerose after just seven months of marriage. The 62-year-old cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct in his filing, as well as fraud on Hodges’ part. The filing does not provide further details on the allegations.
Representatives for Cyrus and Hodges have not yet commented on the divorce. The couple had released several songs together and lived in Tennessee during their short-lived marriage. Hodges had previously shared a post on Instagram celebrating their six-month anniversary, calling Cyrus her best friend.
This is Cyrus’s third marriage, having been previously married to Tish Cyrus with whom he shares five children, including musician and actor Miley Cyrus. Their divorce in 2022 caused a rift in the family, with Miley pointedly excluding her father from her thank-yous when she won her first Grammy Award in February.
Neither Cyrus nor Hodges have addressed the divorce on social media. Cyrus’s 2022 divorce from Tish was his second, after they had attempted to divorce twice before during their nearly three-decade-long relationship.
