Country musician Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from singer Firerose after seven months of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct.” The 62-year-old is also seeking an annulment due to fraud on the part of his 36-year-old wife. The filing does not provide details on the alleged fraud but states that each party should keep their separate property.
The couple, who got married in October 2023, lived in Tennessee and released music together during their relationship. In an Instagram post in April, Hodges expressed gratitude for their relationship, calling Cyrus her best friend. Neither party has commented on the divorce on social media.
Cyrus has been married twice before, notably to Tish Cyrus, with whom he shares five children, including Miley Cyrus. They divorced in 2022, leading to a highly publicized family rift. When Miley won her first Grammy in 2024, she notably did not thank her father during her acceptance speech.
Representatives for Cyrus and Hodges have not commented on the divorce. The filing was first reported by TMZ. Associated Press journalist Travis Loller contributed reporting from Nashville, Tennessee.
