No. 1 Tennessee Vols set to take on No. 8 Florida State in College World Series
The Tennessee Volunteers are gearing up to face off against the Florida State Seminoles in the opening round of the College World Series. This marks the first time in program history that the Vols have secured consecutive appearances in the prestigious tournament. After a convincing 12-1 win over Evansville in the Knoxville Super Regional, the Vols are primed and ready to take on Florida State.
On the other hand, Florida State enters the College World Series with an unblemished 5-0 record, having dominated UConn in the Tallahassee Super Regional. The Seminoles displayed their strength with a 24-4 victory in game one and a 10-8 win in game two.
Despite facing adversity in the Super Regional against Evansville, the Vols managed to regroup and secure their spot in the College World Series. Led by a solid bullpen and an exceptional performance from starting pitcher Zander Sechrist, the Vols clinched a commanding 12-1 victory in the deciding game three.
