The children of late jazz icon Tony Bennett, Johanna and Antonia Bennett, have filed a lawsuit against their brother D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett in the New York Supreme Court, alleging mishandling of the singer’s family trust. The lawsuit also names their other brother, Daegal “Dae” Bennett, and the late singer’s wife Susan Crow. The family trust was created in 1994, and Danny became the sole trustee following Bennett’s death in 2023. Bennett’s daughters claim Danny obtained personal benefits for himself and his company through transactions involving the family trust and Bennett’s assets. There were also concerns raised by the daughters regarding the sale of Bennett’s personal belongings, with allegations that they were prevented from viewing his property and that many items were either missing or off-limits after being sold. The lawsuit also highlights financial transactions between Bennett and Danny, including loans and gifts made to Danny by the singer. In response, Danny claims there were commission agreements in place with Bennett. Bennett’s daughters are demanding full accounts from Danny detailing the financial activity of the family trust and Benedetto Arts, LLC, as well as complete inventories of Bennett’s personal property. They are also seeking proper administration of the family trust and relevant documents from Danny concerning the trust and auctions of Bennett’s personal property.
