Jay-Z joins Alicia Keys on stage, Daniel Radcliffe takes home the win

Angelina Jolie won her first Tony Award as a producer of “The Outsiders,” the best musical at the Tony Awards. The show, adapted from S.E. Hinton’s novel, won four awards in total. Jolie attended with her daughter, Vivienne, who is also credited as a producer assistant. Other highlights from the ceremony include Daniel Radcliffe winning his first Tony for “Merrily We Roll Along,” Hillary Clinton making a surprise appearance to introduce a performance of “Suffs,” and Alicia Keys performing with Jay-Z. Jeremy Strong won for best leading actor in a play and thanked his family and theater staff. Sarah Paulson won best leading actress in a play and discussed how she decompresses after performing in a grueling role. Notable moments also included Brooke Shields wearing Crocs on the red carpet due to recovering from surgery, and various performances and speeches throughout the night. Overall, the Tony Awards celebrated the best of Broadway and recognized the talent and hard work of those in the theater industry.
