Vols Take Top Spot in Attendance for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball Combined


The University of Tennessee in Knoxville has achieved the highest overall attendance of any school in the nation for the 2023-24 season across football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. With a total of 1,161,218 people attending the Volunteers’ 38 home events in those three sports, Tennessee led the way by over 96,000 attendees compared to second-place LSU. Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White praised the unwavering support of the fans, emphasizing Knoxville’s status as ‘America’s College Sports City’.

Tennessee’s average attendance of 30,558 in football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball was also the highest in the nation, outpacing second-place Michigan by over 3,500 attendees. The Volunteers were the only school to rank in the top 10 in overall attendance in all three sports, highlighting their dedicated fan base and strong performance across different athletic programs.

In addition to the impressive overall figures, Tennessee set records for attendance in individual sports such as football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. The Volunteers consistently sold out their games and drew large crowds, showcasing the passion and support of their fan base.
