Main Street: Greeneville in Tennessee is seeking to apply for a Downtown Improvement Grant to enhance facades in the downtown district. The grants would be available for commercial buildings in the 18-block area, with a portion of the funds potentially going towards improving the Eagle’s Rest pedestrian pathway and courtyard on South Main Street.
If approved, the grant, provided by Tennessee Main Street and Tennessee Downtown, could provide a maximum of $300,000 per community. Main Street: Greeneville plans to submit its application in August.
Jann Mirkov, the executive director of Main Street: Greeneville, encourages Downtown Main Street District property owners and other interested parties to contact her for more information at 423-639-7102.
The improvements funded by the grant could help revitalize the downtown area and attract more visitors. The Eagle’s Rest pedestrian pathway and courtyard project could enhance the overall appeal of the area, connecting the Crow Foot Valley parking area to Main Street.
Main Street: Greeneville’s efforts to apply for the grant demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the community’s downtown district and promoting economic development. If successful, the improvements funded by the grant could benefit both local businesses and residents, making Greeneville a more attractive destination for visitors.
