Walz and Vance, vice presidential candidates, to square off in debate on Oct. 1 • Tennessee Lookout

Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance has agreed to a vice presidential debate against Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz on October 1st, hosted by CBS News. Walz accepted the invitation to the October debate, which will be held in New York City. Vance has also called for additional debates against Walz, including one on CNN scheduled for September 18th. The Harris-Walz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
September 18th is also the date of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s sentencing in his hush money trial, where he was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Trump’s attorneys have asked the judge to delay his sentencing until after the presidential election. Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris are set to participate in a presidential debate on September 10th, hosted by ABC News.
The upcoming debates and legal proceedings will be crucial in shaping the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Vance’s willingness to engage in debates with Walz and Trump’s legal troubles will likely be key topics of discussion in the upcoming debates. The American public will be closely watching these events as they prepare to head to the polls in November. Stay tuned for more updates on these important political developments.
