Men’s Golf Begins Competition at UK Tournament – GoMocs.com


The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s golf team had a successful start at the UK Intercollegiate tournament. The team opened play at the tournament with strong performances by all players. The tournament took place at the Big Blue Course in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Mocs shot a team score of 282 in the first round, putting them in third place. They were led by senior, Lake Johnson, who shot a 68 in the first round, finishing tied for fifth place individually. Three other Mocs finished in the top 25 individually, including junior, Matt Smith, who shot a 69 in the first round.

Head coach, Mark Guhne, was pleased with the team’s performance in the first round. He noted that the players showed great determination and focus, despite difficult playing conditions. The team’s strong start bodes well for the rest of the tournament.

The tournament continues with two more rounds of play, giving the Mocs an opportunity to improve their standing and potentially finish atop the leaderboard. The team will look to build on their strong start and continue to showcase their skills on the course.
