Benton County Schools in Camden, Tenn., has installed the SmartCIM 4.0 training environment in its new computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) lab with funding from Tennessee’s Innovative School Models grant program. This lab, supported by Intelitek and Learning Labs, Inc., is the first of its kind in the state and aims to provide students with hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing. The lab includes equipment such as CNC milling and lathe machines, laser engravers, and automated welding cells. The system is controlled by Intelitek’s CIM System Management Station and OpenMES software. Instructors will also have access to over 100 courses through Intelitek’s training library and LearnMate® e-learning platform. Randy Shannon, of Benton County Schools, states that this project aligns with the state’s BlueOval City initiative and will be foundational for the economy. Intelitek, a leader in STEM and CTE training, aims to provide students with the skills needed for in-demand careers through innovative learning solutions.
