Animal shelters across the country are working hard to find loving forever homes for their furry residents in time for the holidays. The BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) is helping with their “Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope” reduced-fee adoption event, running from December 1st to December 17th. During this time, potential pet owners can adopt a cat or dog for $50 or less at over 390 shelters in 45 states.
This initiative is a win-win-win situation for everyone involved. Adopters benefit from reduced adoption fees, allowing them to bring home a spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped pet who is ready for love. Shelters benefit from increased awareness and foot traffic, leading to more adoptions. And most importantly, every pet wins by finding a loving home.
Fifteen organizations in Tennessee are participating in this month’s “Empty the Shelters” event, including seven in Middle Tennessee. Potential adopters are encouraged to contact the shelter they are interested in before visiting to learn about their adoption procedures, requirements, and hours of operation.
