Celebrate Christmas in the Historic Heart of Downtown Murfreesboro with Tree Lighting, Carriage Rides, and Festive Fun


Celebrate the holiday season in historic downtown Murfreesboro on December 6th from 5:00-8:00 PM. The event will feature activities such as the Christmas Tree Lighting, carriage rides, free photos with Santa, a screening of “The Christmas Carol,” live stage performances, and more.

The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on the east side of the historic Rutherford County Courthouse, with Santa making an appearance to read a story and turn on the lights. Carriage rides will also be available for $20, offering a festive tour of the downtown area.

Attendees can get free photos with Santa inside the courthouse and enjoy live stage performances starting at 6:00 PM. The entertainment lineup includes performances from community schools and organizations, with special appearances from Santa himself. A screening of “The Christmas Carol” will also take place on a big screen.

Children can enjoy activities, live reindeer, and food trucks throughout the night. The event promises a magical and festive atmosphere for attendees of all ages.

For those unable to attend on December 6th, free photos with Santa will also be available on the following three Saturdays at the Rutherford County Courthouse from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
