Jackson is Traveling to New York City for the WNBA Draft

Tennessee women’s basketball star Rickea Jackson has confirmed her attendance at the WNBA Draft 2024 in New York City on Monday night. The draft, presented by State Farm®, will be held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, marking the first time fans will be in attendance since 2016.

Jackson, a standout forward, led the SEC in scoring this season with 20.2 points per game and is expected to be a first-round pick in the draft. She overcame an early-season injury to post impressive stats against ranked teams and is projected to be selected by teams such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and Minnesota in the opening round.

If Jackson is chosen in the first round, she will become the 46th Lady Vol taken in all WNBA Drafts and the 21st Lady Vol picked in the first round. She finished her collegiate career with 2,261 points in 127 games, ranking sixth in UT history. Her season highlights include four double-doubles, 13 games with 20 or more points scored, and impressive shooting percentages.

Jackson’s accomplishments place her among the best scorers in Lady Vols history, trailing only legends such as Chamique Holdsclaw, Bridgette Gordon, Candace Parker, and Tamika Catchings. With a successful college career behind her, Jackson is poised to make her mark in the WNBA and continue the legacy of Tennessee’s storied women’s basketball program.
