Chief Minister Stalin inaugurates Sify’s AI-ready data centre campus in Siruseri


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently inaugurated South India’s largest AI-ready data centre campus in Siruseri, Chennai. The campus, operated by Sify Infinit Spaces Limited, has a capacity of 130 MW and is the only data centre in India with an on-site open cable landing station. The company aims to power the facility with renewable energy and sustainable building management practices. With an investment of over ₹10,000 crore, Sify plans to create employment opportunities for 10,000 people as the facility expands. The data centre will serve as a strategic digital gateway for enterprises and governments looking to leverage AI, cloud, and high-speed data solutions.
Raju Vegesna, Chairman and Managing Director of Sify Technologies Limited, expressed pride in supporting Tamil Nadu’s digital ambitions and India’s data-driven future. The facility will provide scalable infrastructure and high-performance computing capabilities for AI workloads and digital-first enterprises. Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce T.R.B. Rajaa attended the inauguration, where Vegesna also mentioned plans to establish centres in cities like Coimbatore. The project, initiated during a global investors meet in 2024, has already seen an investment of ₹1,882 crore and created 1,000 job opportunities in its first phase. Sify intends to invest ₹13,000 crore in Chennai by 2027, according to a statement released by the Tamil Nadu government.
