Five-star shooting guard Darius Adams has reopened his commitment and is asking to be released from his NLI with UConn, listing the Vols and Michigan State as finalists. Adams, who previously committed to UConn in September 2024, recently took an official visit to Tennessee in September. He also visited Michigan State, Alabama, and NC State during the summer.
Rob Cassidy of Rivals highlighted Adams’ shooting stroke and ability to create his own shot, noting that he has potential to be a high-level defender as he adds weight. Despite being a McDonald’s All American, Adams did not score in the showcase game but showcased his rebounding and passing abilities.
Tennessee currently has three signees in the 2025 class, led by four-star wing Amari Evans. Forward DeWayne Brown II and point guard Troy Henderson round out the class, with the Vols also pursuing forward Nate Ament. They also have returning guard Bishop Boswell and Maryland transfer Ja’Kobi Gillespie on the roster, along with a push for Rodney Rice out of Maryland.
With Adams’ recruitment now open, Tennessee remains in the mix for top prospects as they continue to build their team for the upcoming seasons. Stay tuned for updates on their recruiting efforts as they aim to strengthen their roster for the future.
