Dog Rescued from 20-Foot Tree After Tennessee Flooding

A heartwarming story of rescue and reunion has emerged from Tennessee in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. A dog named Athena was stranded in a tree 20 feet above ground near the Nolichucky River in Washington County amid flooding caused by the hurricane. Thankfully, the Kingsport Fire Department and the Murfreesboro Police Department came to her aid, with a police K9 named Kari leading rescuers to her location.

Athena was safely rescued from the tree by members of the fire department, and after being fed and cared for, she was reunited with her owners, Allie and TJ Faulkner. The Faulkner family had lost their home in the flooding and were overjoyed to see Athena safely returned to them.

The rescue of Athena is a heartwarming tale of hope amidst devastation, as captured in a video showing the emotional reunion between the beloved dog and her family. The Faulkners expressed their gratitude to those who helped rescue Athena, calling her a cherished member of their family.

This heartwarming reunion comes on the heels of another dog rescue during Hurricane Helene in Florida, where the U.S. Coast Guard saved a man and his dog stranded on a disabled sailboat off the coast of Sanibel Island. Both cases serve as reminders of the compassion and dedication of rescue teams in times of crisis.
