Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela, Gregory Marlyn Galindez-Trias and Moises Alejandro Condollo-Urbaneja, were arrested in New York in connection with the murder and robbery of a 59-year-old man at a Connecticut hotel. The suspects, alleged to have ties to the Tren de Aragua prison gang, were captured with two young children at a New York train station. They face charges of possession of stolen property, grand larceny, and fleeing justice, but murder charges have not been filed yet.
Police in Rensselaer, where the suspects were arrested, stated that both individuals are in the country illegally from Venezuela and are believed to be affiliated with the Tren de Aragua criminal organization. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have filed detainer requests for both suspects.
The victim, a legal immigrant and green card holder from Ecuador, was shot and killed at a Stamford hotel. The suspects, who allegedly used the victim’s credit card at an Amtrak station, were found with the victim’s stolen belongings and his stolen car.
The children found with the suspects have been placed in child protective custody, with one being a U.S. citizen and the other from Venezuela. The suspects are being held on a $2 million bond each.
