The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is investigating the death of 13-year-old Dearria Radley, who was fatally shot by her mother, DeAnn Radley, while the mother was searching for her keys in her purse. The .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol discharged when DeAnn Radley accidentally pushed the trigger, shooting through her purse and hitting her daughter. Dearria was rushed to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. DeAnn Radley expressed profound grief, stating that her world is “falling apart” and conveying her love for her daughter. Police have not filed any charges in relation to the incident.
