Knoxville mom Kimberly O’Neal has launched a new business, Modern Day SAHM, to help stay-at-home moms find flexible job opportunities after battling postpartum depression herself. O’Neal’s struggle with postpartum depression led her to start working remotely, which helped her through her difficult time. Inspired by her experience, she created a platform to connect companies with stay-at-home moms looking for employment opportunities. The platform currently has 2,500 moms signed up and offers roles in insurance, sales, administrative work, and finance. O’Neal meets with each company before they join the platform to ensure they are willing to hire stay-at-home moms and there are no multi-level marketing schemes present. She hopes to provide support and a sense of community to other moms who may be experiencing similar struggles. Through her business, she aims to show moms that they are not alone and that there are opportunities available to ease financial stress and improve mental health. O’Neal’s ultimate goal is to make moms feel supported and connected in their journey to find a work-life balance.
