The University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo squads recently completed their 2023-24 regular season at the annual rodeo hosted by Northwest Mississippi Community College. The men’s team placed 10th with 80 points, while the women’s team ranked eighth with 60 points.
Clint Southworth was a standout performer for the Skyhawk cowboys, earning points in calf roping and team roping. On the women’s side, Allie Sherman, Josie Luttrell, Savannah Moran, and Madde Shelton all scored points in barrel racing.
Sherman finished second in average, Luttrell placed fourth, Moran finished fifth, and Shelton split sixth in the short go. The team’s strong performance has qualified them for the 76th Annual College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming, which will take place from June 9-15.
The Skyhawks will now focus on preparing for the national finals as they look to build on their success from the regular season. With their talented roster of cowboys and cowgirls, UT Martin is confident in their ability to compete at the highest level on the rodeo circuit.
