Country music star Sturgill Simpson is making a comeback with a new album and tour. After fulfilling his promise to release only five albums under his own name, he will be releasing a new album under the name Johnny Blue Skies called Passage Du Desir on July 12. The album includes eight tracks produced by Johnny Blue Skies and David Ferguson. The “Why Not? Tour” will be Simpson’s first full tour in over four years and includes 28 dates across the United States.
Fans can sign up on sturgillsimpsonlive.com for early access to the artist pre-sale, which begins on June 12. The general on-sale for tickets will start on June 14. The album’s track list includes songs like “Swamp of Sadness,” “Jupiter’s Faerie,” and “One for the Road.”
The tour will kick off in Los Angeles on September 14 and will include stops in various cities such as Washington State, Chicago, Nashville, and New York. The tour will feature special guest Lord Huron at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. Simpson’s unique sound and style have garnered a dedicated fan base, and the anticipation for his new album and tour is high.
