Florida State baseball’s highly anticipated rematch with No. 1 Tennessee in the College World Series has been delayed further, this time not due to Mother Nature but because of a postponed game between No. 2 Kentucky vs. Florida. The game was rescheduled to Wednesday morning at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha due to rain on Tuesday, causing FSU’s CWS semifinal game against Tennessee to start at 3:45 p.m. ET instead of the originally scheduled 3 p.m. ET time.
The NCAA mandates a minimum of 65 minutes between games for teams to warm up and for the grounds crew to prepare the field, which led to the delayed start time for FSU vs. Tennessee. This will be the first time the Seminoles face the Volunteers since last Friday’s controversial ending, with Tennessee walking it off with a 12-11 victory.
In order to advance to the College World Series best-of-three championship series, FSU needs to beat Tennessee twice, on Wednesday and Thursday. The game can be watched on ESPN or Fubo, which offers a free trial to select users. Fans can expect an exciting matchup between two top-ranked teams in the College World Series as Florida State looks to bounce back from its previous loss to Tennessee.
