Nashville Songwriter Awards to Honor Alan Jackson and Buddy Cannon

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) will be honoring country music legend Alan Jackson and writer-producer Buddy Cannon at the upcoming seventh annual Nashville Songwriter Awards at the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 24.

Alan Jackson will receive the Kris Kristofferson lifetime achievement award for his numerous hits as a performer and songwriter. He has been recognized by the Grammys, ACM, and CMA, as well as induction into the Nashville Songwriters and Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Buddy Cannon will be recognized with the NSAI president’s keystone award for his contributions to the industry, including his work with artists like Kenny Chesney and Willie Nelson.

A new accolade, the legendary song honor, will be introduced this year to recognize one influential song chosen by NSAI’s professional songwriting members. The inaugural legendary song award recipient will be revealed and performed during the show.

City National Bank, the Recording Academy’s Songwriters & Composers Wing, SoundExchange, Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, and The Mechanical Licensing Collective are among the supporters of the awards.

More details on performers and ticket information for the Nashville Songwriter Awards will be announced soon, with tickets going on sale on July 26. The awards ceremony will celebrate the best in songwriting and honor those who have made significant contributions to the music industry.
