The Mariucci Family Beacon House in Marquette, Michigan hosted its third annual Grill & Chill cook-off fundraiser with a Night in Nashville theme. Steve Mariucci and 3 other chefs competed to win the title of Best Chef by cooking Southern dishes for attendees to sample and vote on. The event drew in 200 people from all over the country, all in support of keeping the Beacon House operating for guests in need.
Mariucci expressed his appreciation for the community’s commitment to the Beacon House, a place that provides a peaceful environment for individuals going through difficult times. The fundraiser had a goal of $200,000, with proceeds going towards supporting guests staying at the Beacon House. Board member Tom Snow highlighted the unique and fun aspect of the event, bringing people together to celebrate and raise funds for a good cause.
Participants enjoyed the variety of dishes cooked by the chefs and had the opportunity to vote for their favorite. Mariucci humorously mentioned that despite his participation, he has never won the cook-off due to what he believes are fixed results. Overall, the event was a success with guests from near and far coming together to support the Beacon House’s mission.
